The origins of Hazard lie in Pete and Chris's chance meeting with a Country & Western singer in Wollongong, Australia. The sunny climate and wide open spaces added to the mix and the song writing began.
Being rockers at heart though, the Country side of things rapidly diminished and Hazard music ended up being more of a Skynyrd, Outlaws, Creedence Clearwater, Blackberry Smoke type rocky thing but with more harmonies and a female lead.
Literally Southern Rock since you can't get much further South than Australia! Australiana if you like, which is similar to Americana
but feels more authentic. It is still in there even though the band is based in the north west of England.
